At Whitney Builders we strive to make the building process as seamless and transparent as possible, from our first meeting to the completion date. There are many elements to a successful project including: Pre-construction planning, accurate estimating, productive project management, thoughtful organization, and skillful execution of the work. We strive to hit high notes throughout.
PLANNING
It all starts with an initial meeting where we’ll go over your project information and plans, and you’ll get to learn more about our approach to residential remodeling projects. During this stage, we will provide honest, practical feedback on your plans and may give recommendations on anything from how to develop the budget to how to avoid delays.
If your plans are not fully developed and are more conceptual in nature, we will provide a rough order of magnitude (ROM) budget for the project. If your plans are fully developed, we will conduct a site visit with subcontractors. This allows them to inspect the existing site conditions, make any professional recommendations, and provide accurate estimates for their trade and scope of work. This process allows Whitney Builders to develop a detailed, line item estimate that incorporates the site conditions, architectural and structural drawings, and client expectations. For all project estimates, we work hard to be as accurate and transparent as possible.
EXECUTION
Once an estimate is accepted and the contract is signed, a kickoff meeting is scheduled. Our team will meet to go over the project timeline and any logistics specific to starting your project. We will also review which work will be executed by our team of highly competent sub-contractors and what work will be self-performed by the Whitney Builders crew
We have long-standing relationships with our subcontractors and trusted, long-term employees, enabling us to complete projects efficiently. We emphasize safety and job site organization, and all work is installed with pride and quality. It is worth noting that all subcontractors are supervised by Whitney Builders, and that all finish carpentry is performed in-house ensuring exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.
COMMUNICATION
We believe a collaborative effort yields the best outcome on residential remodeling projects. Our emphasis on communication helps us stand out from the rest and —bi-weekly homeowner meetings are built into the construction phase. In these meetings the team will go over the project progress, highlight critical path needs, approve layouts and mockups, and field any questions from homeowners and/or design teams. The project foreman is onsite daily for basic communication, and the project manager and Whitney Builders’ owner are readily accessible via phone or email.
COMPLETION
As we near completion, we will develop a punch list so your project can be closed out efficiently. During this time, the foreman and project manager will work closely with you to make sure the final details meet and exceed your expectations.
On completion day, the foreman will perform a final walkthrough of the site to go over everything and answer any questions. At this time, you will receive any remaining product information and warranty materials. And don’t worry, even after we’re finished with your home remodeling project, we are available to answer any questions that may arise.
